2021 XXL Freshmen share their currency

The rappers of 2021 XXL First year class know the hard work and dedication it takes to reach their current place in the game. Before they get there, they know the struggle and tribulations they have gone through trying to build their music career. This is why there is nothing like a good motto to keep them focused on their goals.

2021 XXL First year students Winnie the Pooh, Lakeyah, Morray, Flo milli, Iann Dior, Coi Leray, Toosii, Pink Ruby, DDG and Blxst share with XXL their currency of life.

For DDG, waking up in the morning is a blessing and another chance to conquer your goals. “One of the phrases I live by every day is tattooed on my hand, ‘Tomorrow is never promised’,” he says. “So when I wake up everyday I feel like I have to take advantage of it because someone else hasn’t woken up. It’s a blessing to be woken up everyday and to be better. “

Winnie the Pooh is the same way. the 20 year old rapper remembers every day that he is a go-getter. “Every time I wake up I’m sure I have to say to myself, ‘I got it’,” he says.

The 1017 Records artist also adds that he doesn’t let criticism from others distract him from his goals. “I can listen to other people’s opinions, but I don’t pay attention if it doesn’t do me any good,” he shares.

In difficult times, Iann Dior has a motto to keep your head up. “It’s a model that I live by: ‘Things could be worse and you’re still in a better position than before,'” he says. “You have to keep your head up even when things get worse because things have to get worse before they get better.”

Meanwhile, Lakeyah lives by the energy of a word. “I live by perseverance,” she explains. “Like, I don’t even have a full quote. I just know I don’t stop. All I can tell people is to be consistent, to be persistent and you will go where. you will go. I live by that every day “

For Flo milli, his life motto is based on spirituality. “My life motto is ‘Where fear stops, faith begins’,” she says. “You cannot be afraid to live your dreams. You have to kill this with conviction and have courage and bravery.”

These life currencies serve as a daily mantra that helps motivate 2021 XXL Freshman class to push towards their desired goals.
