911 audio from AkonThe company’s car theft incident has surfaced online.
Wednesday (May 26), TMZ posted the audio of the call with Akon and a 911 dispatcher regarding his White Range Rover stolen from QuikTrip gas station in Atlanta while injecting gasoline.
On the audio clip, Akon informs the operator that his car was stolen from a gas station, but mistakenly gives the dispatch the incorrect address of the gas station. He instead gives her the place where her car was taken. Akon was able to trace the vehicle using the “Find My iPhone” function and his phone was still in the car.
The woman informs the founder of Konvict Muzik that the address he provided is “not a street in the city of Atlanta”. The operator then asks if the rapper contacted the police, which he says he did, but it took a while for law enforcement to arrive.
“They’ve been on the road for a whole hour,” Akon said.
The operator continues by confirming the details Akon said in the first part of their conversation.
“And you said you were hijacked?” Asks the dispatch. “At the end of the gun?”
The Senegalese-American artist claims he was hijacked, but a gun was not involved.
“I was literally doing gas and they just jumped in the car…” he said before the dispatcher interrupted him and corrected his labeling of the theft.
“This is not a hijacking,” says 911 operator Akon. “This is not a carjacking.”
After responding and saying “Oh, OK”, the dispatch tells the rapper that “someone stole his car”.
Akon agrees, “Yes, ma’am,” and the audio cuts out.
As previously reported, the car theft took place on Monday, May 24, just before midnight at 761, boulevard Sidney Marcus. QuikTrip gas station. The address where the “Locked Up” rhymer’s Range Rover was found was in Forest Park, Georgia, which is why the address he provided to the 911 operator was not in the city of. Atlanta.
Other items were listed as stolen in AkonPolice report including Louis Vuitton luggage, diamond chain, rapper’s passport and more. Although the car was collected by the Forest Park City Police Department, it is not known whether Akon received these items.
