The buzz started when Grammy-winning producer and frequent contributor to Dre, Fredwreck, posted a photo on Twitter with Dre, Em and K. Dot on Wednesday, April 28. He simply captioned the photo, “Beats n Rhymes 🎙 #shady #aftermath,” which could just be seen as a reference to him and Dre doing the beats and Shady and Kendrick being the MCs.
However, on Friday April 30, former Death Row artist and Slaughterhouse member Kxng Crooked posted the same post from the photo to Twitter. “Beats & Rhymes,” he typed, without a photo.
It was enough to put the fans into a frenzy. On Saturday (May 1), the photo started trending on Twitter, with fans speculating that Dre, Em and Kendrick were working on new music. “So we get a Dr. Dre album with Kendrick Lamar and Eminem on the same track ???? Say no,” one person surmised on Twitter.
“If Kendrick and Eminem have a collaboration on Dr. Dre’s new album, I can die of happiness,” commented another person.
Eminem and Kendrick Lamar first collaborated on the track “Love Game” from Shady’s 2013 album. The Marshall Mathers LP 2. A new collaboration would not be overkill. Speculation has circulated that Kendrick Lamar may release his long-awaited new album on May 7th after his label CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith posted a cryptic social media post. Dr Dre is also reportedly working on a new album, the 2015 follow-up. Compton, with reports that Eminem worked with the iconic producer on the project.
