Broward County Commissioner Honors Kodak Black

Kodak Black has his legal issues behind him and is now honored by his hometown.

On Friday June 11, Broward County (Florida) Commissioner Dale Holness said June 11 Kodak Dark day. The Pompano Beach, Florida native was honored with the proclamation during a charity basketball game in Coral Springs, Florida.

During the presentation of the honor, Holness congratulated Kodak on its charities and achievements in the field of music, listing a number of causes to which rapper “ZeZe” devoted his time and money.

“Let it be proclaimed by the Broward County, Florida County Council of Commissioners,” Holness said. “The Board hereby designates Friday, June 11, 2021 as a day in Broward County, Florida to encourage and support the philanthropic efforts of Kodak Black.”

The date also happens to be the rapper’s birthday. In honor of his birthday, Kodak released an EP on the same day titled Happy Birthday Kodak. The four-song effort includes appearances by Yo Gotti, Jacquees, Lil Keed and Rylo Rodriguez. It was the second project he set up in less than a month, after Haitian boy Kodak in May.

Kodak hopes his good deeds start to get more noticed than his trouble with the law. In January, he was released from prison after his sentence was communicated by former President Donald Trump. He was serving a sentence of almost four years on a federal firearms charge. In April, he pleaded guilty assaulted a teenage girl and was put to the test.
