Duck really embraced the term “a celebration fit for a king”. To celebrate the honor of its Artist of the Decade at Billboard Music Awards 2021 last weekend, Champagne Papi rented a stadium and organized a dinner to celebrate.
Sunday (May 23), Duck rented the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., where the 34-year-old singer hosted a dinner on the 50-yard line.
“He rented the whole stadium for the night,” a source said E! Online. “The stadium has a gigantic banner with his name and ‘Artist of the Decade’ on it.
According to the media outlet, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Doja Cat, SZA and The Weeknd were due to attend Drake’s festivities. Drake’s 3-year-old son Adonis, who also attended his first awards show by hitting the Billboard Music Awards step at his young age on Sunday evening, accompanied his father during the event.
In an Instagram post shared to the rapper’s IG account, featuring a photo of himself with a group of friends at the stadium, Drake explained how he got to this point in his career.
“Never show anger lightly,” he captioned. “Don’t say anything. Earn everyone’s respect with deeds, not words. Respect your blood relatives. Play is a hobby, not a way to make a living. Love your father, your mother, your sister, think more about who you call your brothers and beware of loving a woman other than your wife. “
The new stadium, which is expected to seat 70,000, was empty except for Drizzy’s private event, but that didn’t stop the rapper from celebrating. The sumptuous dinner included a light show.
“There are huge champagne towers and several bars set up throughout the stadium,” said the E! source described. “Drake also has some great albums featuring his favorite moments from his career at the stadium.”
As Drake regularly celebrates his victory, the rapper is also working on his next album, Boy in love certified. The LP is long overdue after the rhymer promised he would deliver the project at the top of the year. However, the album was blocked after the rapper injured his knee and required surgery. Drake is reportedly in the process of finishing the LP, but no official release date has been announced. He teased a new song, purportedly titled “Fair Trade,” in an Instagram video last week with producer 40 behind the boards.
