Famous Dex was reportedly the victim of a recent theft in which he was detained at gunpoint and cleared of his valuables and cash.
The Chicago rapper reported the theft to police in San Fernando Valley, Calif., Wednesday, March 10, according to a report by TMZ published on Saturday (March 13). Dex told officers he met a friend at SFV to borrow a watch for a video shoot. After purchasing the watch, Dex said he was followed. According to the report, Dex claims that several men fired guns at him when he stopped his car and stole the costly time piece as well as thousands of dollars in cash.
XXL contacted the Dex team and the San Fernando Valley Police Department for comment on the case.
Dex is rebounding from a stint in a drug rehab earlier this year and appears to be doing better than before. At the end of 2020, fans and rappers were expressing concern for the welfare of Dex after posting a series of very fragile and very intoxicated videos on Instagram. It came a month later NLE Choppa called Dex’s label, saying they needed to help the artist who has reportedly been struggling with drug addiction issues for some time.
Dex released his latest solo project, Diane, last October, which features Rich The Kid, Trippie Redd, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, Fivio Foreign and others. He continued the joint project with Chris King, Snotty nose dexter, in December. Dex is currently working on new music.
