Hotboii is among 32 others, including his fellow rapper 9lokknine, who face racketeering or drug trafficking charges resulting from a thorough investigation into gang activity in Orange County, Florida, dubbed Operation “X-Force.” A total of 34 people were arrested as part of the investigation.
Meanwhile, 9lokknine, born Jacquavius Dennard Smith, who has been in custody since June 21, is said to have reached a plea deal. According to a report by WESH 2 this afternoon, the 20-year-old rapper pleaded guilty to three weapons charges. He faces up to 32 years in prison.
While 9lokknine also faces racketeering charges, the connection to the gun charges he pleaded guilty to is unclear. The charges are likely related to 13 auto triggers recovered from his home during the investigation. The triggers convert a semi-automatic pistol to a fully automatic pistol.
Last October, 9lokk was arrested in his home state of Florida for the following offenses: possession of a concealed weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a close range firearm, rifle or machine gun. A few weeks earlier, he had been arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted criminal and possession of a short-barreled rifle.
According to authorities, there is a street feud between the 438 gang of which Hotboii is a member and the army gang, of which 9lokknine is a member. Hotboii denied having used 9lokknine in the past.
A representative from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OSCO) described “Operation ‘X-Force’ as an investigation by the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, a multi-agency task force that includes the Sheriff’s Office of Orange County “.
“These are the nearly three dozen suspects arrested or wanted for racketeering or drug trafficking after a nine-month investigation into criminal gangs in Orange County by the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation (MBI),” wrote the OCSO in a tweet on July 2, featuring photos or images of the 34 people detained or wanted as part of the agency’s lengthy investigation.
According to the OSCO, the gang feuds have claimed four lives: Daquane James Felix Jr., 3, an innocent victim of a car shootout; Denis Joshua Atkinson, another drive-by victim — his age was not disclosed; High school student Dexter Rentz, who was killed in another drive-by shooting while attending an event after a friend’s funeral; and Tayvia King, 16, who agreed to be driven by her friend’s brother instead of taking an Uber home, and was shot dead when a vehicle opened fire on the car.
Tayvia King is the niece of Orlando City Commissioner Regina Hill, according to Orlando News 6. Jacarious Jermaine Jevonte Simpson, 18, and Anthony “Ant” Barnes, 17, have previously been arrested and face charges for King’s death.
Authorities said the operation also led to the removal of 15 guns from the streets – two stolen weapons and two weapons directly related to King’s murder – and the 13 self-seizures found in 9lokknine’s home.
