Won’t the real KD rise please.
Rapper from Detroit Kash doll and future NBA Hall of Fame basketball player, Kevin Durant, recently went back and forth on social media because of the nickname “KD”. It all started on Friday night (February 26th) when Kash posted the bragging tweet, “All these niggas wanna fuck KD.” Her tweet is apparently a play about City Girls’ JT lyrics to Moneybagg Yo’s “Said Sum (Remix)”.
Kevin Durant, a world famous hooper who has been known as “KD” for over a decade, responded to the tweet, not wanting anyone to confuse his statement as being about him. “@kashdoll You didn’t need to use those initials to delete this tweet,” he replied. “You have to relax with the KD conversation, your name is KASHDOLL.”
The Stacked the rapper responded defiantly, saying she was the genuine KD. “I’m the real KD … your name Kevin Durant acts on it,” she replied to the Brooklyn Nets forward’s tweet, with a heart-shaped emoji.
Kash doll then tried to add validity to her statement by retweeting a fan noting that she had a song called “KD Diary” which was released in 2019, more than a decade after Durant became a household name for his basketball prowess. “Her name was KD, this album came out in 2019 and look at the title,” the uninformed fan wrote.
Kash Doll, known for her singles “Ice Me Out” and “For Everybody”, released her debut album, Stacked, in October 2019 via Republic Records. She is currently preparing the sequel to the first album. In December, she released the single “Bossa Nova” with fellow Motor City native Tee Grizzley.
