On Monday (June 21), the Florida rapper took to his Instagram page and shared a photo of him paying tribute to Kobe bryant posing next to his Tesla Model X and a mini-helicopter, both customized in purple and yellow paint. In addition, the old 2016 XXL First-year student wears a Los Angeles Lakers jersey with Kobe’s number 24 on the front and back. The correlation between the colors of the car and the Kodak helicopter are the colors of the Lakers team.
“I’m Ouchea 24 a day, I’m like KOBE,” Kutthroat Bill wrote in the caption with the hashtags #KtB and #HappyBirthdayKodak Out Now. He also tagged Kobe’s IG page.
Understandably, Kodak is a huge Kobe fan, but his tribute left fans wondering about the inclusion of a Kobe-themed helicopter, which some found offensive and unpleasant. If you remember the late NBA Hall of Famer death in helicopter crash, along with nine others, including her 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant, in January 2020.
“Nahh bro not the helicopter …” one user wrote on Project Baby’s IG page.
“Idk on the dawg helicopter,” another person commented.
Kodak also shared the photo on their Twitter account, which garnered more reactions from fans.
“Yes Kodak is canceled, why would you want to pay tribute to Kobe with a helicopter?” One person tweeted.
Another fan wrote: “This guy is a smh headache.”
There are fans who didn’t seem to mind Kodak posing next to a Kobe themed helicopter.
“Obviously he didn’t mean anything by that,” tweeted another Twitter user. “He’s wearing the jersey? Dripping Lakers colors and you only notice the helicopter? … how can you even think of that?[.] Obviously, you’re not a Kodak fan if you think he would disrespect Kobe’s name like that. It’s not Z. “
Despite what you think of Kodak, it still has raise eyebrows on social media.
