A Lil durk concert in Phoenix, Arizona ended in chaos last night after spectators reported hearing gunshots and rushed to safety.
The April 17th show, dubbed Smurkchella, took place at the Celebrity Theater and also featured 1017’s Shy teddy bear with Coi Leray. Phoenix Police Department spokeswoman Ann Justus says XXL: “At approximately 10:00 pm, it was reported to police that as a crowd walked out of a location near 400 North 32nd Street gunshots were fired. Officers found no casualties by bullet. A few people suffered death, threatening injuries while trying to flee the area. This is an ongoing investigation. “
There have been conflicting reports as to whether shots were actually fired or whether a loud sound caused mass hysteria leading spectators to rush to the exits. A video posted on social media, believed to have been recorded following the concert, shows a woman bleeding from her hand. The chairs are overturned and people look in panic. “What’s going on? Like, you can never do shit,” she exclaims after revealing that she was cut in close combat. “We can never do shit. We can never have fun.”
There have been other reports that a loudly dropping mic is what may have sent fans into a frenzy, believing it to be a gunshot.
Durk, on the other hand, minimized any negative events that could have occurred at the show. Early Sunday morning (April 18), he posted footage from the packed concert on his Instagram Story with the message: “10,000 people have sold and no drama is stopping us.”
