On Saturday (February 27), Weezy F. Baby was a guest on Fox Sports Radio’s Up On Game where he confirmed a new Young money the album is on its way. “We’re about to put together the compilation with all the artists together on one album,” Wayne began. “It sets everything up for everyone so that they can start dating their solo projects as well.”
Lil Wayne, who reportedly recently sold the Young money music catalog for $ 100 million, is hoping that this project can serve as a springboard for the artists he is currently taking over – similar to the label’s last two compilation projects. The unnamed album will be the third in the label’s group effort series, formerly under the legendary Cash Money Records.
This upcoming Young Money collaborative album will bridge the gap between the latest Young Money project, The rise of an empire, released in 2014, and old Young Money Drake Rhymers, Nicki Minaj and Tyga. In 2009, the label released their first compilation album, We are young money, with the singles “BedRock” and “Roger That” from the Billboard Hot 100.
The most popular versions of Young Money come from Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and of course, Lil Wayne. And even though the label hasn’t offered a compilation album for some time, fans of the collective can now wait patiently for a new offering from the Weezy label to arrive.
Lil Wayne’s comments on the new Young Money compilation project begin at around 12:50 minutes. Watch the full video below.
