Pharrell reveals shot in cousin killed by police in Virginia Beach


Pharrell confirmed that her loved one was shot dead by police in her hometown of Virginia Beach, Va., last week.

Monday evening (March 29), the multiplatinum sale producer revealed via Instagram that her cousin, Donovon Lynch, was killed by police at the city’s oceanfront last Friday evening (March 26). That same evening, several shootings took place in the same area, killing two people and injuring eight others.

“The loss of these lives is a tragedy without measure,” Pharrell wrote in an Instagram post, including a picture of a family member. “My cousin Donovon was killed during the shooting. He was a shining light and someone who always showed up for others. It is essential that my family and the families of other victims receive the transparency, honesty and justice they deserve. Virginia Beach is the epitome. of hope and tenacity and, as a community, we will come out and come out even stronger. “

Police then shot and killed the 25-year-old. While WAVY reports the gun was recovered from the scene, a local outlet in Virginia NBC 12 reports that the firearm was found “near the shooting”.

The shooting is currently under investigation and the officer involved in Lynch’s death has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The officer has worked with the Virginia Beach Police Department for five years, according to the WAVY report.

As for the other shootings that took place in Virginia Beach, Va., By the ocean last Friday night, three men were arrested yesterday in connection with the incident.
