Polo G Type Beat – XXL

MusicGateway

Chicago drilling scene has been one of the most influential rap subgenres of the past decade. The sound, anchored in the menacing components of the trap, shattering cymbals and frenzied hats, followed a soundtrack from a generation of rappers from Windy City and beyond. Enter Polo G. The 22-year-old north Chicago native has lobbied for the past three years, becoming one of the the most popular young artists in the game. Sonically, the rapper diverges from many of his Chi-Town counterparts, mixing gritty street stories with a plus vulnerable side. Polo’s signature sound is enhanced by its selection of rhythms, which blend in with its melodic ambience. His wave has allowed many online producers to create Polo G type rhythms that embrace the 2020 XXL First-year studentthe cuts of choice.

“As for the melodic style, I feel like I’m in my own way. I’m a bit unique about it, ” Polo says XXL in 2019. Since the release of his single breakout produced by Ayo “Best things” in 2018, Polo did not stray too far from its formula. He kicked things off with the piano instrumental that houses heavy bass on what would be the lead single from his debut album, Die a legend, in 2019. Even with a more intimidating single like “Pop Out,” produced by Iceberg and JD on Da Track, the string instrumentation is cranking up the pace, which Polo associates with grip bars. This track peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the two artists’ first entry on the chart. The “Battle Cry” produced by Ayo and JTK is an airy and dark cut while “Deep Wounds”, produced by 1040 Beats, Calari and D Major, incorporates keyboard chords into an uplifting melody.

Polo is clearly in its bag when it comes to acoustic instruments. The goat, his second album released in May 2020, is heavy on mid-beat guitar riffs and mimicking melodies as featured on the Mustard assisted “Heartless,” produced by Mustard and GYLTTRYP. The Mike WiLL Made-It and Tay Keith-Produced “Go Stupid” with Stunna 4 Vegas, NLE Choppa and Mike Will Made-It offers a change of normal sound, with punchy bass and spatial chords, but the presence of the piano is still present. Slower-paced love songs like “Martin & Gina”, with Tahj Money, Hagan and Kdubb behind the boards, balance the formula.

His latest single, “Rapstar”, uses Einer Bankz’s ukulele with Synco’s trap composition. Expect this song to appear on Polo’s upcoming studio album, Hall of fame.
