Early Sunday morning (April 4), a video clip of Quando Rondo’s virtual performance on Saturday April 3, in which the 22-year-old rapper targets the late King Von, surfaced on social media. “He got caught without that pole and now that nigga is gone… I’m gonna piss on his grave,” Quando said before he started rapping. In the short video, the QPac rhymer never directly mentions King Von, but many people on social media have speculated that the Savannah, Georgia-born rapper was referring to Von.
King Von died on November 7, 2020 after sustaining gunshot wounds during an altercation between the Quando and Von crews, which ended in gunfire between the two groups as well as police officers who tried to take control of the disagreement. Timothy Leeks, a Quando Rondo affiliate, has been charged with murder about Von’s death. Leeks, who injured himself and sought medical attention at a local Atlanta hospital, was arrested on November 19, 2020. He was released from Fulton County jail on March 27 after receiving a deposit of 100,000 dollars.
While Quando has not been charged with Von’s murder, his closeness to the death of the rapper, born Dayvon Daquan Bennett, makes his remarks particularly distasteful to hip-hop fans. “Niggas must diss practically lmaooooo. Quando a loser,” wrote one Twitter user.
Others noted how the rhymer chose to dispel the “Back Again” rapper at an online gig and not at an in-person event.
Since the death of King Von, Quando Rondo has seen his shows become canceled due to “legal situations” presumably linked to Von’s death. He was also recently called by Lil Reese for being a “creepy little girl with a slutty ass” after Quando appeared to block the Chicago rapper on Instagram in December.
