Two rap greats from Shaolin – or Staten Island, NY – are next to face each other in a Verzuz hit-for-hit battle next weekend.

Wednesday (March 10), the official Verzuz Instagram page confirmed that Raekwon and Ghostface killah of the Wu-Tang Clan will compete song for song on March 20 at 8 p.m. ET. The event can be viewed through Instagram Live on the Verzuz IG page or through the Triller app, which recently acquired the song contest series.

“Let’s get back to the streets !! @Raekwon vs @RealGhostFacekillah‼ ️ Wu vs Wu‼ ️ Drop some 🔥🔥🔥 if you’re up for it!” Reads the VerzuzTV IG social media post. Tune in for the EPIC Showdown on Saturday, March 20 at 5pm PT / 8pm ET LIVE on @VerzuzTV or in the @Triller app.

Raekwon and Ghostface also shared the news via their IG pages.

“Steel sharpen Steel !! @verzuztv 3/20,” Rae wrote captioned his post. Ghost shared a similar post, including the date of the showdown.

The clash between the two Wu members follows on from previous acts like Fabolous and Jadakiss, 2 Chainz and Rick Ross, Ludacris and Nelly, Snoop Dogg and DMX, the unforgettable Jeezy and Gucci Mane, and so many others.

The Wu-Tang Clan, which single-handedly changed the sound of hip hop in the early 1990s released his first album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 rooms), in 1993. The collective then released solo efforts with Raekwon offering Only built 4 Cuban Linx … in 1995. The LP features Ghostface Killah among other crew acts such as GZA and Method Man. The album was produced by band member RZA. Ghost’s solo debut, Iron Man, arrived in 1996 and was also produced by RZA.

It’s happening next weekend, so grab your popcorn.
