Rare bottle of Jay-Z’s D’Ussé sells for $ 52,000

A rare bottle of Jay ZD’Ussé’s cognac was sold at auction for $ 52,000.

Friday March 13, famous auction house Sotheby’s revealed that a bottle of D’USSÉ Grande Champagne Cognac Anniversary Limited Edition 1969 had a sole for $ 52,000 after returning to the OR on March 1. The bottle was expected to fetch $ 24,000 to $ 75,000, and ended up being sold to an anonymous bidder at around mid-price.

Cognac is a very special edition, which is enclosed in a diamond-shaped crystal bottle. It is surrounded by 24-karat gold leaf wrapping and features the La Croix de Lorraine symbol. It is one of the 50 bottles that were made to celebrate Jay50th anniversary on December 4, 2019. The remaining bottles were given to family and close friends of the rap mogul. This “bottle n ° 1” is the only one in the collection to be adorned with Jay’s signature, which is engraved. It is also the first to be made available to the public. All proceeds from the sale of the bottle will be donated to the Shawn Carter Foundation.

The sale of the rare bottle comes less than a month after Hov sold a 50% stake in its Ace of Spades champagne line to Moet Hennessy in a major move. A little over a week ago, Jay has sold a majority stake in his streaming services TIDAL to Square Inc. and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for $ 297 million in cash and stock. Jigga will now sit on the board of directors of Square Inc, as part of the transaction.
