Rod Wave Type Beat – XXL

MusicGateway

In a sea of melodic rappers and emotional lyrics, Rod wave ascended to the top of the waters, succeeding with his first album n ° 1, SoulFly, earlier this month. The 22-year-old’s brooding bravado on the LP documents the heart-wrenching tales of life in St. Petersburg, Florida, losing love and his road to hip-hop stardom. Rod’s trademark vocals are backed up by a stellar production that carries the weight of his emotional reflections.

His 2019 single “Heart on Ice” is indicative of this. Soul pianos flooded the track before the ’80s arrived, courtesy of speaker Bangerz, Malik and DiCaprio Beatz behind the boards, while Rod’s passionate voice commanded the stage. A Rod Wave type rhythm is easy to find as there are specific production components that each of his tracks exemplifies – passionate instrumentation and stacked drums – and emerging producers are focusing on that sound.

With eight projects to his credit to date, one of the highlights is his 2020 album, Pray 4 Love, which also came with a deluxe Last year. The LP peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on April 18, 2020. The 2020 XXL First-year studentThe 25-track Deluxe Quarantine Pack, starring Yo Gotti, Lil Baby and ATR Son Son, hosted the local hit “Rags2Riches” with ATR Son Son. Clinging piano keys, two pads, a bell, drums, hats, snare and 808s made by Daysix and Zypitano. “Letter From Houston” takes a similar form with a piece with piano, drums and hi-hat designed by four beatsmiths: LondnBlue, Karltin Bankz, TnTXD and Tahj Money.

SoulFly, the third studio album from the Alamo Records signatory, displays a progressive take on Rod’s typical choice in rhythm. Like most of his songs, the production is mostly mid-tempo, but Rod makes more daring choices with the instrumentation. “Street Runner”, designed by Karltin Bankz, LondnBlue and TnTXD, is an example of Rod’s bold choices. The four-minute track begins with a sample of “Mixed Signals” by singer Ruth B. then delves into melodic touches, drums and 808s.

The rapper, born Rodarius Marcell Green, takes his listener to church with his lyrics and the production he sings. A Rod Wave production is inherently spiritual, although the rapper’s primary focus isn’t to rhyme about God. Here are some examples of Rod Wave type rhythms below.
