Rumors surrounding François’ involvement in YNW Melly ‘S’s arrest also includes speculation that the manager turned over the rapper’s cell phone to the police as evidence in the murder case. However, the manager said a warrant had been issued for the phone and he had not voluntarily handed it over to authorities.
“If you look clearly, then you can see, they came to my house, they had a warrant, they broke down my door, they took objects,” says François. “You have other people who cooperate with the police who say, ‘Track was involved. He had the weapons. He got rid of that. “These are all theories, of course. It’s unfortunate because my name is dragged around there.”
Francois later explains the situation that took place that led to ordering him to hand over Melly’s phone.
“The police even said initially, ‘The manager is cheating on the case. He lies. He’s giving out false information so the story can change, “” he said. “Everyone at this point is looking at me from the point of view of just, legally, this man has something to do with it. He’s involved. He’s going to be a suspect. So what happened, when Melly surrendered, I have his things. I have his phone, I have everything. The manager continues, “My lawyer comes to me and says, ‘Hey listen, I’m not going to lie to you. It gets to the point where you’re about to be a suspect. So you have nothing to do with it. hiding. You are doing your job. So they have to understand that all that happened the day after the incident was you were working. Jameson Francois’ search warrant was not available on the Broward County Clerk’s case search. However, according to YNW Mellyarrest documents, which were obtained by XXL On Friday April 16, François was accused by the authorities of having misled the investigator in charge of the case, providing false statements and claiming that he did not know where Melly was at the time of the shooting of Sakchaser and Juvy the October 26, 2018. The documents note that it was later discovered that the manager spoke with Melly following the fatal incident and chased him out of the area afterwards.
Francois also said in the interview that he was ordered to meet with prosecutors to show evidence of why Melly was out of town, which was to feature shows that had been scheduled before.

Melly has been behind bars at the Broward County Jail in Fort Lauderdale, Florida since February 13, 2019.
