Just when the week seemed about to end on a whimper, this weekend features some great releases, including the latest draft of Young thug and his team Young Stoner Life Records.

On Friday April 16, Thugger released the new compilation album Slime Language 2. The new project of Thug and co. contains 23 tracks including songs with YSL members Gunna, Lil keed, Lil Duke, HiDoraah, Strick, Dolly White and more, plus guest appearances with Drake, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi and more.

Young thug officially announced the long-awaited album on Monday April 12th when releasing the album cover. He then dropped a visual featuring his YSL roster and footage from the studio, presumably recording the album.

Rumors that the project was first released erupted in late 2020 when Thug shared an Instagram Story video of himself and his team in the studio. In the clip, they discuss the abandonment of the project on Black Friday last year (November 26, 2020). Then, at the beginning of October, Thug was invited to TI’s Quick podcast with Benny The Butcher where he spoke openly about his upcoming projects. “I do the Slime Language 2 album. I put this shit on and then I pull out my album Punk“Thug told Tip.” I could maybe release two albums … I want to start over. You know, sometimes the relationship gets old. I just want to start a new relationship with my label. “

The original Tongue Slime album released in 2018, and was the Atlanta rapper’s first showcase of his upstart imprint. It also featured Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby, Jacquees, Tracey T and Trapboy Freddy. This is Thug’s first release in 2021. In May 2020, he collaborated with Chris Brown on the joint mixtape Slime & B.
